Five top plans for the summer in Barcelona

For tapas, beers and a bit of a breeze!

Head up to a Hotel Rooftop for tapas and drinks. Check out my list of top rooftop bars here. During the summer there are often events, music, tapas nights etc but mostly they´re just perfect for cocktails on balmy nights and incredibly views!

Catch a movie and live music in the open air

Kick back with a bottle of cava and enjoy films like the Big Lebowski, Dirty Dancing and American Hustle in orginal version with Spanish subtitles. Click here to find out where you can buy your eco-picnic on site and how to get to the castle at Montjuic. Tickets from 9 euros.

Sunset Paddle Surf and Mojito

Cool down in the sea and get fit doing it. The Surf House Barcelona team takes groups out for sunset paddle surfing at 8pm every day of the week during the summer except Saturdays. Once back on the beach enjoy a mojito or fresh juice (incl), in the Cali-style beach front bar. See here for more details. Price is 17 or 20 euros.

Live music

There´s a heap of live music events over the summer ranging from indie festivals to jazz and there´s usually a little Tom Jones in the mix! Check out the following festivals to see what´s on when you´re visiting...

(I SO dance like the girl in the front!)

Escape it all

If the heat of the city is just too much (and it is at times!), head to the beautiful coastal towns of Sitges or the Costa Brava. With Sitges only half an hour away and the Costa Brava 1.5hrs, it´s easy to spend a day or even 2 away from the city centre.
