A cooking course with class

How I like to imagine myself when cooking!

Last week I was lucky enough to be invited to do a tapas cooking course by Barcelonacooking.net.
After living here for nearly 7 years and still offering just "picky bits" to my friends when they come round for a glass of wine I thought it´d be a great way to learn some real Spanish recipes.

As the company is rated No. 1 on Trip Advisor for cooking courses in Barcelona I was interested to see why.

When you do a course like this you want to have fun but the conscientious schoolgirl in me can´t help but want to do it right and learn something. Here, at this modern cooking school which is located at the heart of the Ramblas, they have the perfect mix of professionalism and fun.

We made the most amazing patatas bravas with one of the best sauces I´ve ever tasted in Barcelona, delicious canapés and a pretty sophisticated broad bean and langostine soup.

Canapés of marscapone & chives topped with apple & boqueron
You are welcomed with wine (which flowed freely all evening), a fantastic aperitivo spread and introduced to the team. Throughout the actual cooking you learn great food preparation tips and the best part is you get to sit down and enjoy your tapas creations at the end.

If you do the morning course you are treated to a guided tour of the world-famous Boqueria market where you´ll be inspired by the sights and smells, and select the ingredients to cook your Spanish dishes.

Delicious "welcome" aperitivo
The courses are taught in English or Spanish and the team also offer tapas tours where you get to experience the best Barcelona has to offer, as well as wine tasting events.

For all of you who want a little bit more from your holiday in Barcelona, or are planning a weekend with friends, hen-do, corporate team event or simply want to try something different then this really is a great option.
