Best Brunches in Barcelona

Bikini diet over!

Pancakes topped with maple syrup and blueberries, eggs benedict and a Bloody Mary! A big lazy brunch in Barcelona is a pretty fun way to spend your Sunday. Here´s my list of the best...

Dostrece
1. Dostrece: Open from 11am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday for what I consider to be the best brunch in Barcelona. The menu offers pancakes, french toast, delicious omelettes and Eggs Benedict with chips, plus bellinis and cava. (No full English) It´s laid-back, it´s cool, it´s perfect. Dostrece also does nice evening dishes at a good price as well as kids menus. (There´s also a little park across the road for kids)
Address: Carrer Carme, 40   Nearest tube: Liceu or Sant Antoni

Picnic: a cool brunch

2. Picnic is well-known by the locals and the young foreigners who live here, and is a great place to have a late brunch. It´s located in the cool Born area and does excellent Bloody Mary´s in rustic jars and offers a pretty full menu. Open for brunch Sat and Sun, 11.30am - 5pm. Eat amazing club sandwiches and burgers then take a stroll through ciutadella park to complete your lazy Sunday.
Address: Carrer del Comerç, 1  Nearest tube: Arc de Triomf

The bakery at Pain Quotidienne
3. Pain quotidienne is well-known in London and France but quite new here in Barcelona and the location is great. Right opposite Gaudi´s Pedrera you can sit outside on the street terrace and enjoy brunch with friends or inside on the long rustic tables. Here you can choose croissants, fruit salads, eggs benedict and finish off with a gorgeous strawberry tart or home-made cheesecake. More of a morning brunch than an all-day one, this place is a nice option for a "pretty little" brunch. Cosy, homely, bread-based.
Address: Carrer de Provença, 300      Nearest tube: Diagonal

Cute terrace of Federal Café

4. Federal café is in the up-and-coming area of Sant Antoni.  It´s fresh, wooden, has a terrace upstairs and does a fantastic brunch. Served from 8am till 4pm Sat and Sun, the menu ranges from eggs benedict and Wasabi Bloody Mary´s to cute little cupcakes. Great place to chill with friends but you may have to wait for a table as it´s usually quite busy.
Address: Carrer Parlament, 39   Nearest tube: Sant Antoni

5. If you´re looking for a proper full English with Heinz beans and the works, then Milk is your best option. The setting is vintage elegance with a plush living room style and a fun, lively vibe. As it´s run by an Irish couple, the fry-ups are ace and there is plenty more to choose from on the "Recovery Brunch" menu; Penny Lane pancakes, banana smoothies and proper English breakfast tea. Makes for a happy Sunday.
Based in the Gothic area, there are plenty of streets to wander around when your done.
Address: Gignas, 21    Nearest tube: Jaume 1
