Bars and Clubs in Barcelona - Part 5

Best part about a hen do or weekend with friends is having a night out, a few drinks and a bit of a dance!...then the inevitable stories the next day!

Here I´ll break it down for you and give you 5 top bars and 5 top clubs hopefully covering lots of different tastes and ages. Enjoy!

BARS

Rooftop drinks with great views, & tapas if you´re hungry. This bar will ALWAYS make my top lists.
Alaire Bar at the Hotel Condes de Barcelona on Passeig de Gracia
Book in advance if you´re a big group

Seafront cocktails at the Wet Deck Bar in the W hotel
At the far right end of the beach (the big sail building) not cheap, but very glam

For drinks in a cute small bar in the cool area of El Born, try No. 9 Bar. Head to Passeig del Born to continue the bar crawl where you´ll find loads of bars and the best mojitos!
My favourite is the speakeasy hidden behind a fridge door in the Pastrami Bar. Find out more here...
For a little salsa, head to Copetin

No. 9 Bar

The best cocktails in Barcelona at the speakeasy, Paradiso Bar

Paradiso Bar

Chilled drinks in a cool vintagey spot in Plaza Real just off the Ramblas

For smaller groups, start the night with a few cocktails in a Gatsby style bar in the centre of town

CLUBS

City Hall - One of the most central clubs in Barcelona, 80s, 90s and rock upstairs (Sat only!) & techno and deep house downstairs in a bigger space with an outdoor bar in the summer

Apolo - One of the most famous and biggest clubs in Barcelona. Held in an emblematic old theatre it has electronic music in the main space and a second room with indie music at the weekend.
But if you´re here during the week look out for Nasty Mondays at Apolo with rock, pop and old school classics, Crappy Tuesdays with post punk, rock and indie and my favourite, Cupcake on Thursday with cheesy commercial and 80s, 90s classics.

For RnB, Hip Hop and Soul head to Jamboree in Plaza Real just off the Ramblas. Well located and filled with an international crowd.

For the dressed up crowd in a glitzy space, try Sutton or Bling Bling. Dance and commercial music

Universal or Luz de Gas are both commercial pop & rock clubs. Universal is small but not too small and Luz de Gas is another huge theatre hall but for an older crowd, still good fun though.

Shoko & Carpe Diem are both on the beach with terraces on the actual beachfront. These are mainly electronic, dance and commercial with an international crowd.

For most of these clubs you can get tickets in advance at a cheaper price online or sign up for the guestlist.

Hope these lists have helped you plan your hen do or girls weekend here in Barcelona.
So stay safe (always keep an eye on your bag / phone) and have fun!

  3. Hi Angela, fab blog, exactly what I was looking for! My sisters are organising my hen in April in Barcelona. We will be taking lots of inspiration from your tips. Can you reccomend a good area to stay in? 8-10 girls looking for chic apartment/s that are easy to get to from the airport. Thanks a bunch!

    1. Hi, Thanks for your comment. I think the Eixample is the best area to stay in. Or the Born. Apartments sixty-four are lovely and Friendly Rentals as well. Enjoy your trip! x

  4. Thanks for these hen party posts, I am currently planning one and they are so helpful! I know it's not really the done thing in Spain, but the bride has her heart set on a fancy dress night out. Do you have any tips on where we'd have a chance gaining entry in Fancy Dress? Thank you so much.
