There are officially only 4 weeks left to get your ski on, and if you´re a fair weather (and slightly lazy) skier like me then the temperatures and snow cover right now are perfect for blue-sky skiing and coffee breaks in the sun.
1)
Baquiera is a more upmarket ski resort and often frequented by the royals and celebs. Here you can try haute cuisine in the mountains or enjoy a cold glass of cava at the Moët Winter Lounge. It´s a little further than the other resorts and therefore better for longer ski breaks. An adult day ski pass is 47 euros.
2.
Vall de Nuria is a good option if you have kids as there is a playpark and fun winter activities like tubing and sledging. It´s 1hr and 45 mins drive from Barcelona and the only access is by a funicular train (you can leave your car in the free car parks). If you don´t have a car, this is a great option as you can take the
ski-train direct from Barcelona and including the ski pass it´s around 36 euros.
3)
La Molina and
La Masella are great ski resorts which are also under 2 hours drive from Barcelona. A daily ski pass in both resorts is from 39 euros and there are plenty of green and blue runs through alpine landscapes and pine trees which I love.

If you don´t fancy skiing but simply need to breathe fresh mountain air and see some spectacular landscapes I would really recommend Puigcerdá in Catalunya...

Hotel Villa Paulita in the distance |
The views from the lake are simply stunning and it makes for a relaxing weekend. We stayed in
Villa Paulita which sits on the edge of the lake. It´s only open from Thursdays to Sundays but is reasonably well-priced for a 5 star hotel with double rooms from 107 euros. It´s a 5 minute walk to the centre which has some seriously expensive clothes shops! but great sunny squares.

15 minutes drive from La Molina and La Masella so perfect for a more luxurious weekend of skiing...
